Twitch Gets Facebook-Like Social Feed

Can't stop watching someone'due south Twitch streams? The game-streaming platform is making it easier for you to appoint with that person, instead of just lurking like a creeper.

Twitch on Monday launched Pulse, a Facebook-similar social feed that lets broadcasters and viewers interact. You can follow your favorite streamers, get updates from them right from the Twitch front page, and like and annotate on content they post.

Streamers can share clips, stream highlights, schedules, photos, and more to continue their communities engaged and informed. As a streamer, posts you create on your channel volition likewise now appear on Pulse on the front page for all your friends and followers. Twitch said this will help streamers abound their followings, and engage with followers even when they're not broadcasting.

Twitch started rolling out the new social feed yesterday and said it volition attain all logged-in users over the next few weeks. Pulse will also be available in the Twitch mobile app. Unlike on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, where algorithms determine the club of posts yous see, Pulse updates volition appear chronologically for the time being.

"Our goal is to connect viewers with the content that they're almost likely interested in," Twitch's Sheila Raju wrote in a web log post. "Going forwards, we will be working to determine the best manner of surfacing posts to do just that."
